Galeri Community Projects

As a not-for-profit community enterprise, realising the cultural potential of Caernarfon and the surrounding area is at the heart of all our work. And one of the ways we achieve this is through our broad programme of creative opportunities, opening artistic doors for all.

From Sbarc Drama Club and Symud and Cain sessions to Côr Lleisiau Llawen — we offer opportunities that bring people together, build confidence, encourage self-expression and celebrate the fun of getting involved.

Here's a look at what's on over the next few months...

Sbarc Drama Club — Mondays 29.09 – 08.12 | 17:30 & 18:30

Sbarc is a performance programme for young people in school years 3 to 6 — which gives children the opportunity to explore drama, build confidence and develop their performance skills. Our sessions run weekly throughout 2025, with two full theatre performances each year. There’s no need for previous experience — just the desire to get involved! We are always keen to welcome new members where possible, but please note that there is limited capacity.

Cost per term: £85 (please note that some places are available for children from low-income families).

Symud — Fridays 03.10 – 12.12 | 10:00

Wellness sessions that encourage just that: movement (‘symud’) and dancing. The intention is to awaken and connect with the body in a fun and informal atmosphere — while simultaneously freeing the imagination. Suitable for all abilities — those who are energetic, those who are limited in their ability to move, those who have problems with pain or are recovering from an illness.

£6 per session. Age 16+. Book a Symud ticket here.

Cain – Fridays 03.10 – 12.12 | 11:00

Cain is a movement and dance company for the over-60s — exploring creativity, developing physical training, celebrating the imagination and supporting the artistic expression and voice of older people.

The group has been running since 2010, and has shown their work at the Elixir Festival in London and travelled to the Basque Country for a creative residency.

Cain is open to individuals of all abilities, but we ask that you attend taster sessions first. People are warmly welcomed to watch the group at work, too.

For more information, contact Galeri's artistic team on artistig@galericaernarfon.com or 01286 685 222.

£10 per session. Age 60+. Book a Cain ticket here.
