Re-opening Galeri in stages
Our reopening plans will be in stages based on the legislation set by the authorities and the viability of reopening activities:

Your visit to Galeri will be different to the pre-covid experience in accordance with the Welsh Government guidelines.

The current measures we have in place are:

  • Collecting customer details for Test, Trace & Protect purposes
    Managing the number of people within the building at any one time
  • A one-way system is in place within the building (entry from Balaclava Road only)
  • Social distancing signage throughout the building
  • Hand sanitising stations can be found around the building
  • More frequent and enhanced cleaning procedures operated
  • Wearing a face covering/mask is essential at all times (apart from when sitting in the Café Bar. A mask must be worn in the cinema
  • PPE for staff and screens at certain contact point between staff and the public
  • Full Covid 19 training for staff
  • Closing some toilet cubicles and sinks
  • Windows will be left open whenever possible (weather permitting)
  • Opening days/hours to be limited (initially)
  • Promoting online table reservations in advance (online or by calling 01286 685 200)
  • Table service in the Café Bar (to order and pay)
  • Single use menus in the Café Bar (also available online)
  • Promoting contactless payment

The guidelines will be amended in line with the national legislation and guidelines over the coming weeks.

Yes. Face coverings must be worn during your visit. The only time you can remove your face covering is when seated at a table in the Café Bar, in your cinema seat or meeting room.
Children 11 years old and younger and individuals who are medically exempt don’t have to wear a face covering.


We are currently offering an online box office facility only. You will need to register for an account online if purchasing a ticket for the very first time.

With the capacity so limited, we strongly suggest that you pre-book your tickets as early as possible to avoid disappointment.


No. We will have a list of customers/seat plan but we will require proof of purchase (for example email on your mobile device).

We will not be printing physical tickets until the box office reopens.


For the wheelchair/accessible spaces in the cinema, please email your request to and we will be in touch as soon as possible.

The current guidelines allow up to 6 people (12 years and older) are permitted to sit together as a group.

For the cinema, we will be trialling a socially distanced seat plan with a mixture of “bubble seats” suitable for one person up to a maximum of 6 (the seat plan will differ depending on the film and time of day).

We accept the seat plan will not suit everyone, but we are hoping that the restrictions will be amended soon to allow additional seats to be released for future titles.

During the socially distanced seat plan trials we have a new (short term) price structure:
£6 in advance

£7.50 on the day (subject to availability)

**This includes a £1 booking fee per ticket

Regrettably, we are unable to offer our usual PRIMA concession during the time socially distancing seat plans in place for contractual reasons with distributors.

No. We will not be printing any schedules/flyers to promote the cinema provision over the summer. We will have a digital poster/schedule online and the “what’s on” page on the website will be updated on a regular basis and a weekly email will be sent with the films/listings.

The cinema programme will initially be a updated on a weekly basis.

The doors to the cinema will open 20 minutes ahead of the start time. The time listed on the event/website is that start time of the feature film. We strongly advise customers to be in Galeri 30 minutes before the start time to allow plenty of time for registering on arrival etc.

Please also take into consideration parking and potential traffic congestion (it is likely to be extremely busy over the summer with the holiday traffic and road closers due to the bypass)



There may well be others sitting in the same row as you. A distance of at least 2m will be between every group/audience member. If an audience member needs to pass others, please ensure that your face covering is placed correctly and that you avoid face to face contact with fellow audience members.

Yes. We will be opening the kiosk 30 minutes before the film start time. Please pay using contactless method if possible. The kiosk will close once the film has started.

Please help us by putting your rubbish in the bin on your way out.


We kindly ask you to not bring your own food/drink to Galeri.

All performance spaces (Cinema screens, theatre and studio spaces) bring in fresh air from the outside and extract air from the spaces to the outside – no air is recirculated.

Windows will also be kept open to keep a flow of fresh air into the building.

We would be happy to discuss private screenings in the cinema from Tuesday-Thursday during August.

We have contacted all ticketholders to update on postponed and cancelled events.

Some events have been rescheduled and are currently on-sale on our website.

For the cancelled events, everyone should have now received a refund or credit on their customer account.


We do not offer any refunds in line with our policy.

If we receive at least 12 hours notice, we are happy to credit your customer account that can be used for future ticket purchases in Galeri for 12 months from the date issued (a £1 per ticket admin charge will be discounted).

We’re also happy for you to transfer your ticket to a friend or family member.

We have extended all gift vouchers (valid on or after 21.03.20) so they can now be used until 31.12.21.
Gift vouchers can be bought from the Box Office between 09:00-12:00 Monday-Friday.

Once the event/cinema programme resumes, the PRIMA memberships will be extended for the months lost due to the pandemic.

Whilst the cinema is running on a socially distanced seat plan, regrettably, we are unable to offer the PRIMA concession due to contractual reasons with distributors.

When entering Galeri, we will be taking everyone’s temperature and some personal details. If you (or a member of your group) will have a temperature of 37.5ᵒc or higher unfortunately we will not allow you into the building. The details required on arrival (for “Test, Trace, Protect” purposes) are: Name (of one member of the group) - Telephone number - Time of arrival/departure - Purpose of your visit.

We are optimistic that live events and exhibitions from September onwards. All confirmed shows are already on-sale and we will be adding more events in the near future.
